What certifications should a good AV integrator have?

A good AV integrator should hold AVIXA CTS certifications, including CTS-D for design and CTS-I for installation, plus manufacturer certifications from brands like Crestron, Biamp, and Cisco, project management credentials such as PMP, and networking certifications. FORTÉ teams hold certifications in all of these categories.

  • AVIXA CTS: The industry's foundational credential, accredited to the ISO 17024 standard. CTS-D covers design and CTS-I covers installation.
  • Manufacturer certifications: Show the team can install and program specific systems correctly.
  • Project management: PMP or CAPM signals disciplined delivery.
  • Networking and IT: Cisco CCNA, CompTIA, and Microsoft credentials matter as AV moves onto the network.
